LES MAINS DE LUMIÈRE, ANTHOLOGIE DES ÉCRITS SUR L’ART DE LA MARIONNETTE
[HANDS OF LIGHT, AN ANTHOLOGY OF WRITINGS ON PUPPETRY ARTS]

For a long time shunned by major stages, puppetry has now carved out a place for itself in the field of entertainment. From animation films, to video or digital media; from acting performances to dance or the circus, the human representation is split into two, with live bodies on one side and animated figures on the other. Meanwhile an ever-greater number of puppet theatre companies challenge, invent or question the bases of their art to explore new hybrid forms and techniques.

LA VIE FILMIQUE DES MARIONNETTES
[THE FILM LIFE OF PUPPETS]

Long confined to animation, today this art form is enjoying a spectacular revival on movie screens around the world.
