Members of the Association québécoise de la marionnette (AQM) have been working to make their dream come true since 2010: establishing the Maison international des arts de la marionnette (MIAM – International House of Puppetry Arts) and joining a worldwide network of puppetry centres. Casteliers, a specialized puppet theatre presenter, teamed up with the AQM to make this vision a reality in the Outremont borough, now a member of the Association des villes amies de la marionnette (AVIAMA – International Association of Puppet-Friendly Cities). Eight years after first floating the idea, the MIAM opened its doors at 30 St-Just Avenue in Montréal.
